Amanda Broege wins Yankee Lanes Manchester Women’s Open.

Amanda Broege captures title # 5, winning the Yankee Lanes Manchester Women’s Open on Saturday, September 16, 2023, hosted and sponsored by Yankee Lanes in Manchester, NH.

As we did not have the turnout we were looking for, we did have some hungry women all looking for another title and, in some cases, their first title. Amanda qualified third for the one-squad event with a score of +50 for the five qualifying games.

Amanda faced Melissa Smith in the first match and came away with the win, defeating Melissa 244 to 212, to move on to the Championship match against our number 4 qualifier, Nancy Kohut. In the Championship match, Amanda continued her win streak from 219 to 189 to capture title # 5.

We only had nine women compete, where 4 made it into match-play. The prize fund was quite lovely, thanks to the generosity of Jeff Barden and Yankee Lanes for adding $1,500 to this event prize fund.

Onto our next event on October 1, 2023, for the NEBA Masters event to be hosted at AMF Auburn Lanes in Auburn, MA. This event is a one-squad special format as this is the Master's Event presented by DJ’s Pro Shop, and we have $3,500 in added monies to the prize fund courtesy of Tony & Sue Reynaud, Roger Baral, and Bloomfield Electric.
