On Sunday, Hall of Famer and 9-time Bowler of the Year Bill Webb won his 19th title at the Cambridge Credit Counseling Invitational. Bill got a bye into the head-to-head match play by being in the top 16 points last season. In this match play format, the four bowlers on each pair compete against each other with twenty bonus pins awarded for every person you beat that game. Bill went 21-3 in match play to earn 420 in bonus pins plus he out averaged the next person by 18 pins with his 230.6 average for the eight games of match play. In the championship match, he defeated another Hall of Famer Joey Transue. The fifty-one year old took home $2,000 plus a paid entry into the Storm/Roto Grip/900 Global Tournament of Champions while Joey $1,250 for his runner-up finish.
