Brian Gaskill and Michael Puzo won the GMS Decorative Concrete Over / Under 50 Doubles presented by Turbo Driven to Bowl at Bowlero Cranston on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
This is Brian’s fourth NEBA title and Michael’s first NEBA Title.
We had 36 Teams participate in this year’s Over / Under event, where we took the top 8 teams in 2-game Baker-style match-play.
The team of Brian Gaskill & Mike Puzo qualified 3rd overall from Saturday’s qualifying round with a team total of plus 164, setting up their first Baker-style match against the number six seed team of Justin Veal and John Kirker. Having defeated the team of Veal / Kirker 533 to 373, Puzo and Gaskill now faced off against Bruce Hall and Brandon Boyer, whom they defeated 461 to 430 to bring them into the Championship match against the team of Matt Brockett and Mark Bouchard.
Team Gaskill / Puzo were down 36 pins after game one of the 2-game Baker finals and rallied to defeat Team Brockett / Bouchard 407 to 362 to take home the title for the 2024 GMS Decorative Concrete Over / Under 50 Doubles along with the top prize of $2,000 and a paid $125.00 entry for a total team prize of $2,250.00. The team of Matt Brockett and Mark Bouchard took home $1,200 for their second-place finish.
