This past weekend, NEBA welcomed Colby Hagemoser into the winner’s circle as he picked up NEBA Title # 1 with the win of the KR Strikeforce Open, hosted at AMF Somerset Lanes in Somerset, MA.

We had 174 entries where we took 40 bowlers into single-game match-play finals. Colby qualified #18 with a score of +112 for the five games. This gave Colby a one-round bye in match-play, where he defeated Darryl Washington, the number 15 seed 232 to 210, to move onto round three of match-play.  During round three, Colby defeated Tim Giguere 255 to 187, moving him on to round four to bowl against Andrew Hall. Colby continued to show his confidence, defeating Andrew 212 to 179 for Colby to move to the Semi-Final match against Anthony DeRobertis. Colby continued to focus on defeating Anthony 257 to 202. Colby has come knocking on this door before; however, this time, he faces a tough David Simard for the Championship match. Colby was determined to stay focused and came away with the win, defeating David 221 to 199.

Thank you to everyone who participated; we also would like to thank our host, AMF Somerset Lanes, and certainly KR Strikeforce, for their continued support of NEBA, the sport of bowling, and all of the sponsors, especially our SPI Family.

On to our next event on Saturday, November 18, 2023, for the Dexter / Turbo Grips Non-Champions Event and Sunday for the SPI Tournament of Champions event, all hosted by East Providence Lanes in East Providence, RI. We will have $1,000 added to each day’s prize fund.
