Kenny Baker, Jr, and Jon Van Hees win the GMS Decorative Concrete Regular Doubles presented by Strike FX Pro Shops at Bowlero Cranston on Saturday, June 9, 2024.

This is Kenny’s 2nd NEBA title and Jon’s 14th NEBA Title.

We had 78 Teams participate in this year’s Doubles event, where we took the top 16 teams in 2-game Baker-style match-play.

The team of Kenny Baker Jr,  & Jon Van Hees qualified 16th overall from Sunday’s qualifying rounds with a team total of plus 202, setting up their first Baker-style match against the number one seed team of Kevin Thibeault and Stephen Dale, Jr. Having defeated the team of Dale / Thibeault 473 to 429, Baker & Van Hees now faced off against the number eight seed of Dave Thomas and Dennis Bissonnette whom they defeated 430 to 372, to bring them to the semi-final match against Tom Coco and Nick Perrone. Defeating Coco / Perrone 447 to 353 now sets them into the Championship match against the Tiler Levesque / Amando J Villa team.

This championship match came down to the tenth frame of the second game where the team of Baker / Van Hees had the final frame in the hands of the NEBA Hof Jon Van Hees to clinch the win against Levesque / Villa 461 to 456 to take home the title for the 2024 GMS Decorative Concrete Regular Doubles along with the top prize of $3,000 and a paid $125.00 entry for a total team prize of $3,250.00. The team of Tiler Levesque and Amando J Villa took home $1,800 for their second-place finish.

We want to thank Clay Swartz and GMS Decorative Concrete for their continued support of NEBA and for adding $1,500 into today’s prize fund and Strike FX Pro Shops for their continued support of NEBA and the sport of bowling.
