Robert Dimuccio, Jr captures his first NEBA title, winning the Ideal Bowling Concepts Non-Champions event at Walnut Hill Bowl on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Robert qualified 16th for match-play, advancing through the At-Large with a qualifying score of 1109. We had 113 bowlers competing, with the top 24 advancing to the one-game match-play elimination. The top 8 bowlers of the qualifying round did receive a one-round bye. This set up match-play for Robert for round one as he defeated TJ Souza 210 to 209 to advance him into the second round, where he bowled the number one seed of Michael Reale. Robert continued to stay consistent and defeated Michael 219 to 198. This moves Robert into round three, facing the up-and-coming Nathan DeMello. Robert was definitely focused as he fired a perfect 300 game to Nathan’s 203, advancing Robert to the semi-finals against Chris Beaulieu. As he stayed consistent, Robert defeated Chris 219 to 204, advancing him to the finals against his good friend Sean Richard. Sean Qualified 10th for match-play and was on fire at the beginning, firing games of 286, 257, 245, and 279 to get him into the finals. Not able to keep that high-scoring pace going, Robert defeated Sean 236 to 211 to capture his first NEBA title.

Robert won $1,300 plus a paid entry of $125 into the SPI Tournament of Champions in November of this year, for a total prize payout of $1,425, while Sean picked up $900 for his second-place finish.

We want to thank Keith Laing and Ideal Bowling Concepts for sponsoring the event, as well as Robert Toth of Walnut Hill Bowl for hosting it and contributing $500 to its prize fund.

The next tournament is on April 27-28 for the Buddies Pro Shop Open, hosted at Nutmeg Bowl in Fairfield, CT. This will be the 5th stop of the Paul Forry Memorial Cup Series. We want to thank Chris Forry & Buddies Pro Shop for sponsoring the upcoming event and adding $2,000 to this weekend’s prize fund.
