Scott Kampf Champion at BuddiesProShop.com Singles

  • Mon, April 11, 2022

Scott Kampf started his Sunday at Nutmeg Bowl with a 1013 on the first squad which was 33 pins short of the squad cut.  He made the wise choice of reentering then shot 1073 for sixth place on the squad and a spot in the eliminator style finals.  After a one round bye for being in the top 24, Scott shot games of 203 and 215 to get to the final eight and earn a spot in the $10,000 Paul Forry Memorial Series.  He then shot the high game of the next two rounds (278 and 205) to earn a spot in the championship match.  He shot his lowest game but still was victorious with a 192-159 win over champion Tom Coco Jr.  Scott took home $1,400 plus a paid entry into the Tournament of Champions.

We had a nice turnout for 194 entries at the BuddiesProShop.com Singles.  It was the first stop of the Paul Forry Memorial Series.  These eight bowlers are the first to qualify for the finals: Scott Kampf, Tom Coco Jr, Bruce Hall, Jeremy Hartbarger, Eric Smyth, Dennis Bissonnette, Tom Solimine and Chris Viale.  It was also the second event in the BowlingSeriously.com Women's Series.  25 entries were women with four advancing to the finals with all qualifying via the squad or at-large cuts on the low scoring condition.

Thank you to Chris Forry and his staff at Buddies Pro Shop for sponsoring NEBA. Buddies is the longest and oldest sponsor of NEBA. The shop sponsors the annual awards plus has added money to many prize funds over the years.

The next tournament is a one-day Logo Infusion Senior tournament on Saturday, April 30 in Woonsocket, RI.  That is the start of the Ace Mitchell Bowling Supply Non-Champions weekend with squads on Saturday at 6PM, Sunday at 9AM and Sunday at 12:30PM on April 30 and May 1.
